Conflict Resolution

COURSE OVERVIEW

Conflict Resolution

Conflicts are an inevitable part of the workplace.

This Conflict Resolution training is designed to assist supervisors and managers in recognizing the whole lifecycle of conflict management, and provide them with the conflict resolution methods and techniques that are necessary for assessing and managing conflicts, so that they do not affect business aspects like quality, productivity, long term relationships, and time and energy wastage.

Goals of Conflict Resolution Course:

This conflict management course introduces a model for managing differences that include unique approaches for learning conflict management skills. Participants determine which approach will be most successful in dealing with and resolving the conflicts they personally encounter. Working through simulations, they learn better ways to handle conflict between themselves and others and to referee conflict management at work. Each participant plans and practices a conflict resolution session designed to prepare them for handling a conflict they currently face at work. This Conflict Management Training Program concludes by highlighting ten common conflict behaviour types, and showing how to effectively deal with each.

Delegates will explore the practical and theoretical basis for a conflict resolution approach and gain experience on how to put a comprehensive set of conflict resolution techniques into practice through several conflict resolution exercises.

By the end of this course, participants will learn to identify the source of conflicts in the workplace, understand the types of conflict resolution and the conflict resolution steps, in addition to adopting the most effective strategies to resolve conflict in the workplace.

Moreover, they will be introduced to a model for managing differences which includes unique approaches for handling conflicts, focusing primarily on negotiation, mediation, and advocacy.

Participants will also practice simulations to improve the ways they handle conflict between themselves and others, and to referee conflicts between other employees.

The format of this course includes the presentation of theory, group discussion, guest speakers who incorporate mediation or advocacy in their practice, videotaped scenarios, case application, and role-play exercises.
