In today’s modern and fast business life, in organizations, it is everyone’s job to effectively solve problems. On the other hand analytical thinking skills with the excessive business requirements do not come easily to many people. Analytical thinking and problem solving are foundational thinking skills that involve breaking things down into their component parts. They also involve deductive reasoning, drawing conclusions from givens and applying judgments to reach conclusions from a combination of evidence and assumptions that shapes the decisions.

Goal of Course:

This Program is designed to provide participants with the creativity and analytical skills required to achieve a significant improvement to the way they deal with problems and turn these problems into opportunities to achieve higher productivity & organizational efficiencies. This program also that blends personal efficiency with rational & creative and analytical thinking processes to create a comprehensive approach to problem solving, decision making & planning. The action wheel illustrated below reflect a conceptual framework of the Analytical Thinking & Creative Problem Solving. The entire workshop is being built around the action wheel to develop creative and quality solution and execute a quality implementation of ideas and findings.

During the program delegates will be encouraged to think analytically with emphasis on the thought processes that will enhance their ability to think and plan in a manner consistent with their organizations strategy. They will learn a wide range of practical techniques to understand problems systematically, produce and improve new ideas and solutions, compare and evaluate solutions and then communicate those ideas effectively.

All Delegates during the program will be able to learn whilst ‘doing’; capitalize on skills transfer and practice of the techniques post the training program

Module 1: Identifying the problem

  • Understanding problems and where to start- Analyzing the problem and identify its causes is the first step.
  • Factors which influence our natural decision-making
  • Setting a clear focus – Having understood the problem, the next step is to set a clear focus for the thinking.
  • Quality problems with intuitive decision-making processes.
  • Analytical techniques – Learn a range of practical and easy to use techniques for idea generating ideas solutions. You will build a tool box that includes Mind Mapping, situation/solution reversal, SCAMMPERR, analogies, brain writing and other thinking and creativity approaches that are proven to revolutionize, save time, money and reach decisions quickly.

General Methodology

Similar to any L2S training program, this program offers an interactive learning experience in which will allow the delegates to reflect on their learning through an informative, indulging, and fun classroom experience. The design of the training session focuses on the following attributes.

Specific Methodology

To effectively execute this program and to ensure that the end result is being achieved L2S specific training methodology in High Impact Presentation Skills program is as explained in the below stages:

Stage 1: Designing the Training Event

Meeting with the stake-holders or Training Department to further understand their specific needs and expectations of the program.

  • Identify the client’s needs in problem solving and decision making so as to customize the program accordingly.
  • Identify the client’s specific problems that they wish us to address in the customized program.

Stage 2: During the training

  • The course design is based on interactive facilitation, games, videos, role-plays, group discussions, and brainstorming.
  • Throughout this workshop, we will be monitoring their level of absorption of the education, and accordingly either more of their interaction or more education is allowed for.

Activities Brief

Decisions Decisions:

An interactive and engaging team and decision-making business game that challenges groups to solve problems by consensus, under time pressure and on a budget!

This optional day looks at Decision Making and the consequences of making bad and good decisions. It also focuses on Customer Satisfaction vs. Business Profit.

The team is separated into groups of four or five members. Now representing the management team of a tour company, they are presented with a series of issues and problems to solve. They debate the given options mindful that spending money on a problem may increase customer satisfaction but reduce profits, while going for the cheap option may well mean a loss of customer satisfaction.

They enter their decision into a computer using a secret team code, the customer service score and profit balance is then printed along with the next problem.

After working through a series of problems and challenges each team receives their final report, which reveals the effects of their decisions on customer satisfaction and the repeat business prospects. The debriefing will be tailored to the objectives you wish to achieve.

  • Types of problems: discuss the two types of problems.
  • Emotions & decisions: discuss how emotions interferes in our decision making process and how to limit them.
  • How brain work in action: discuss how the brain works and the difference between left and right brain sides interact.
  • How to encourage creativity: workshop to develop an atmosphere of freethinking and how to utilize the outcomes.
  • Structure VS unstructured approach: discuss the differences between the two approaches and the implications on the outcome.
  • Decision making process: discuss the process of decision-making and how to gain control over the problems.
